Hi AQUILA! I love your magazines! It was very hard to choose my favourite issues, but I’ve decided: Pompeii (September 2022), Showstoppers (November 2022), London (July/August 2021) and Japan (June 2020). My first issue of AQUILA was Japan! I liked learning to draw Manga.

In your Showstoppers issue, you had a bit about learning lines off by heart. Well at school, I have done some summer plays and nativities. In last year’s summer play, we did Twelfth Night and I played Lady Olivia. I think I had 40 lines to learn!! I was Year 5 then when I played Olivia. Now I’m Year 6. The year before that, we did A Midsummer Night’s Dream (also a Shakespeare) and I played Helena, I think I had 20 lines, so half. I think I’m getting more lines every year!

I have sent a photo of my garlic bread I made from the Pompeii issue and a photo of my favourite crafts and my AQUILA magazines. I live in Cornwall and I swim in the sea!

My name is Eva and I live in Yellowknife NWT in Canada. I really like your magazines. Could you maybe do an issue on fairies sometime? I'd also like an issue on butterflies please. Here in Yellowknife the winter is very cold and the summers are very hot but strangely enough, this winter has been very warm. Well, I'm running out of things to say, so Bye! Eva, Age 8

Hi Aquila I love, love, LOVE your mags! I know everyone says this (and I know everyone says this too). It was really fun making the paints that only certain people can use, I made sad sludge that only 18 + can use because it may damage mental wellbeing because it’s so grey and miserable. I also made super neon yellow (it’s so bright it appears green) and can only be used by Aquilanaughts. One of my favourite drinks is boba tea let me know if anyone else likes it!

I have written to you before but I have decided to write to you again. First of all, I really liked the Winter Wild issue (Dec 2022), so I decided to do a sketch of the wolf on the cover. I was really proud of it. Everyone in my family really liked it. I hope you like it too. Bye for now.

Dear Aquila,
I made these Baked Alaskas from your Winter Wild issue and they tasted delicious. I like maths, cats, and recently I have been making a lot of paper teddies for my friends. My favourite past issue of the magazine is Autumn Adventures because it contained a lot of information about animals and hibernation. When I grow up I want to be a vet.

Edward (age 8) loved making Baked Alaska!

Dear Aquila, I love your magazines!! I always take them into school and read them but my English teacher ALWAYS says 'You need to read more things your age, like novels! Not magazines!' Little does he know that these magazines are so informative and entertaining that they put Charles Dickens to shame! I have SO many magazines. Whenever I get one in the post I immediately flip to the back to see what Ian has to say and then go through the brain feeders. Thank you so much for making such amazing magazines!

Hi Aquila!

I know that everyone says this but I love your magazine. My first issue was Japan (June 2020) and it made me want to visit Japan. I LOVE Japanese food!
My favourite page of the mag is Brain Feeders because the puzzles are really fun to do.
My favourite issue so far has been Chocolate (April 2022). The reason for my love of chocolate is when I was little, my brother and I were eating chocolate buttons. I had fewer chocolates than him so I wrote a letter to the company and they sent me a free voucher for more chocolate!!!

Hey Aquila, I LOVE your mags! I did the ‘Panis Garlicatus’ with my dad and sister. It was soooooooo good! I really worked hard and enjoyed the kitchen (from 7:00pm to 12:00pm) and it was a great excuse to stay up late!

Hello, my name is Sebastian and I love AQUILA! My favorite issue is Ice Age (January 2021). I made the Chair - o -Plane from the Funfair Maths issue (February 2021).

I really enjoyed making the chair-o-planes from February’s issue. I designed mine with butterflies, moths, and a dragonfly. I coloured it all in with blue and purple pens, as they are my favourite colours. It turns really well when I blow on it gently.

Hi fellow Aquilanauts and AQUiLA team (what a start, right … I know, stunning!). I know everyone says this (and that) (and sometimes even that) but I love Aquila soooooooooo much!! Today, I went through all my Aquila back issues – they go back a looong way – and I saw the Manga page in the Japan issue (June 2020). It inspired me to try some Manga, which was so much fun and turned out pretty well, even if I say so myself … sadly, I forgot to take pictures, but on the plus side I think I have a real future ahead of me (in drawing Manga, at least). Random change of subject: it’s important that everyone knows this … I am CRAZY about Billie Eilish. Please reply to me if anyone else is! Last up, I have a question for the Aquila team: why do we not see Kit as much? Anyway, I think I better shut up, or this will go on and on and on!! Bye then, bye … bye (ok, bye)

Hi AQUILA!
I love your magazine SO much. You have really cheered me up and given me something to do during the lock-down. My hobbies are drawing, cuddling with my pets (a dog named Bella and a cat named Sparkles), reading (especially AQUILA and Harry Potter), baking, and many more. I love the over to you pages because I like hearing what other kids are doing right now. I'm making the Trace Fossil from the Evolution Issue (Jan 2020) as of now! Hello! I have been wanting to write in for a while. My favourite issues are the Discover Dogs issue and the Evolution issue. I made the Boom bars from the Ice Age issue and they were delicious!

Hello, I made the Boom Bar but accidentally got water in my melted chocolate! So it looks a bit different but it still tastes delicious!!
